May 3 (Tuesday): Maui, HI
Pete Seeger music throughout the day and a special noon-hour tribute
Mana'o Radio, a non-profit (501c3), all-volunteer, commercial-free FM radio station on the island of Maui, happily joins the Seegerfest on Tuesday, May 3 with Pete Seeger tunes and anecdotes sprinkled throughout the day's broadcast. Midday host Bill Best is planning a special tribute to the birthday boy during the noon hour (HST). Mana'o Radio may be heard at 91.5 FM on Maui and online at manaoradio.com . The Hawaiian word "mana'o" means thought, idea, opinion. The local term "sharing mana'o" describes a way of life for early Hawaiians, who had no written language and passed their knowledge to future generations through spoken word and chant. How appropriate it is that on May 3, 2005, Mana'o Radio will share Pete Seeger's mana'o with a worldwide audience!
